LKER i6

?9mm Dynamic Driver

$25~$30
3.0/5.0

Unlike the i8, the i6 failed to impress me. Their sound signature seems to be targeted at a bass-loving audience, but even that audience will probably find the mid-bass to be unpleasant, or even unbearably irritating.

I would advice any potential buyer to steer away from LKER i6 and pay the extra price for a decent pair of LKER i8.

Pros

  • Very comfortable to wear thanks to their small housings and excellent ear tips.
  • An impressive variety of ear tips and accessories, which is expected, considering the price.

Cons

  • The mid-bass and lower-mids are overblown and tend to cause fatigue when listening to acoustic instruments or male vocals.
  • The mids sound artificial and off-tone.
  • The cable looks very basic and flimsy, and retains bends easily.

Very comfortable earphones thanks to their relatively long and slim housings, and the grippy black silicone ear tips that are included with these earphones.

Lows / Bass

The mid-bass is overemphasized and very muddy and instruments like electric guitars sound messy and unnaturally and excessively warm. Drums sound more powerful than they should be. The bass seems to overshadow the mids and highs quite often, muffling them significantly. Sub-bass is noticeable, but not as deep as ROCK Zircon's sub-bass, for example, and not as stable either.

Mids / Vocals

The mids have a strange darkish tone to them. The bump in the lower-mids results in overblown vocals and cause listening fatigue after a while, especially male vocals which tend to be lower in the frequency range. Musical pieces with background synths or background acoustic instruments tend to be muddy and too upfront.

Highs / Treble

The highs are quite clear and sharp. Smooth and not overemphasized, with just about the right amount of detail, but slightly off-tone. Nothing special about them, but at least they're bearable.
